Near the end of Bush's presidency he had a shoe thrown at him. This cartoon recalls this event and satirizes that the shoe may have missed his but the issues during his time in office have not. The bigger shoe coming at his labeled "Legacy" illustrates that many were upset with Bush at the end of his time in office and that his name has been hurt because of it. The shoe that was thrown at Bush was an event that many people will not forget, and this cartoon satirizes this and the idea that the shoe held a big meaning.
TSA Satire
Many people have become concerned with how much strong TSA security has become. Ever since 9/11, airport security has become tighter. The recent addition of the body scanners and more in depth pat downs have upset many. This cartoon is satirizing the issue. TSA is meant to make flying safer and protect people from possible threats on a plane. However some feel that the new procedures are to much and invade people's privacy. This cartoon criticizes the new procedures, saying that TSA has gone to far and that the invasion of privacy is to much.
Political Cartoon
This is satirizing Obama and his campaign. During his run for presidency, Obama's campaign was all about Hope and Change, however after his first year in office, many felt that none of this was being accomplished. By having Obama sit on the word Hope it illustrates the platform of his campaign. However having the line in the H drop to create the word "Nope" illustrated how many felt about Obama's year in office. This cartoon criticizes Obama and what many feel he hasn't done while in office.
